INTERMEDIATE GIRLS (Grade 8) vs. St. Matthias Won 20-13
Thursday night Intermediate Girls beat St Matthias 20-13. Allison led the way with 8 points including 3/4 from the FT line and Vanessa hit both her free throws which helped the team shoot 63% from the line after an abysmal 1/15 from the line the prior game. The return of Jessica and Lelaina helped the team to a slightly more comfortable win.
Saturday, Feb. 26
BANTAM GIRLS (Grades 5 & 6) vs. St. Francis DeSales Won 5-3
INTERMEDIATE GIRLS (Grade 8) vs. Queen of Peace Won 28-7
Saturday the Intermediate Girls dominated Queen of Peace in a very physical game 28-7. Our girls shut them out defensively through most of 3 quarters until they hit a free throw. Arietta Kontogianis added 5, 9 out of 10 of our girls scored with Jessica scoring a team high 10 points and Alexandra hitting a nice jumper early when we were having trouble putting the ball in the basket until the 2nd half. The win improved our record to 7-0 on the season so far. All the girls played amazing defense limiting the other team to 1 point through 3 quarters.
INTERMEDIATE BOYS (Grade 8) vs. Immaculate Conception Won 56-21
ROOKIE GIRLS (Grades 7) vs. St. Adalbert Lost
SUB-NOVICE CO-ED (Grades 1, 2, & 3) vs. St. Gregory
Subnovice played better than expected after a week with no practice. They did real well transitioning offense to defense; rebounded well against a taller team; ran the weave a few times and were able to set a few picks after only practicing it once two weeks ago.

BANTAM GIRLS (Grades 5 & 6) vs. St. Matthias Won
Girls Intermediate had a solid 24-14 win against St Matthias. I was happy that our girls kept their composure and only got called for 4 fouls the entire game although playing aggressive defense and only giving up 8 points through the first 3 quarters. Allison led the way with 8 points, Jessica and Lelaina played very good point guard, staying under control for the most part and getting their teammates involved. Jessica also added 4 points as did Hanna who was getting nice passes inside from Jessica, Alexandra and others. Arietta added 4 points on a couple of CYO running prayers. Alexandra and Christina added strong rebounding and 2 points each. The team was very happy that they beat St Matthias for the 3rd time and improved to 8-0.
INTERMEDIATE BOYS (Grade 8) vs. OL Hope Won 47-16
ROOKIE BOYS (Grade 7) vs. Resurrection/Ascension Won 36-31
Rookie Boys (7th grade) overcame a slow start and a 20-7 deficit to storm back and defeat Resurrection Ascension 36-31. Incredible team defense and rebounding in the second half set the stage and Tim Fitzpatrick poured in 17 fourth quarter points to lead the Eagles to victory.
